FAQ’s

What is breathwork?

The breath is the most accurate and instantaneous mirror for how we feel, think and live.  By consciously connecting with the breath through a safe and gentle process, we are updating these feelings, thoughts and physical sensations to live with more happiness, ease and pleasure in life. Think of it as a re-boot to your body, mind and spirit when the “system” is sluggish or not functioning optimally.

The benefits of breathwork can include:  more clarity, reduced anxiety and depression, increased stress-resilience, increased energy, feelings of more ease and flow in life, decreased physical pain, heightened insight, awakened presence, expanded sense of connection with self and others.

What is sound healing?

other-offeringsEverything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including every bone, tissue, organ and cell in our body. When we are in a state of sound health, all of our body parts are vibrating harmoniously at their optimal or resonant frequency.  When our vibration is not in sync with our optimal frequency we can feel out of sorts, imbalanced and depleted.  Shamanic sound healing can help bring your vibration back into resonance, thus allowing you to enjoy a state of relaxation, reduced anxiety and tension, and a boost to the immune system.

Can I commute if I don’t want to stay on-site training?

We highly recommend taking advantage of this retreat location and staying onsite whether you live locally or are traveling from afar.  It is The Mountain Retreat Center’s policy that you must live within 30 miles of the retreat center in order to commute, otherwise the rates below for accommodations and meals apply.  Room’s are situated on top of the mountain with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge mountains.

The Mountain Retreat Center provides delicious, healthy meals during the training.   If you have any food restrictions, sensitivities, allergies or dietary needs, please let us know in advance.  All meals are included during the training when you stay on-site.  If you live locally and commute, breakfast and lunch is included in your $30 commuter fee.

Will there be time in the schedule for rest, hiking or spa services?

Yes, we have deliberately created the retreat schedule so that it allows ample time for this.
